“I wanted to achieve front splits to be able to incorporate this in my pole and hoop routines

What other hobbies/ professions do you have?
Aerial Arts

When you begin training with me, what were your main flexibility goals?
I had a specific flexy goal in mind I wanted to improve my flexibility to level up my other hobbies.

What brought you to flexibility training? (e.g. a goal, a feeling, a curiosity…)
I wanted to achieve front splits to be able to incorporate this in my pole and hoop routines.

What were you struggling with before we started working together?(physically, emotionally, or logistically e.g. pain, fear, lack of progress, confusion, inconsistency…)
I’d say I was inconsistently training for flexibility and I wanted to have 1-1s so I would make more time for it and make sure I was training it regularly! I wouldnt have had the progress I have achieved if I didn’t sign up!

How did that challenge make you feel?(Physically, emotionally, or both — whatever feels true.)
I was excited for the challenge and I still am every other week! I actually enjoy my plans and practiced way more than I thought I would due to the variety and seeing progress weekly

Have you tried anything else before joining KMM? If so, what was missing?
No, I have an idea of basic mobility drills due to my profession but I have learnt soo much more from our sessions and actually use this new knowledge with my own clients to!

What made you choose to work with me / join KMM?
Instagram posts - I saw your results posts and resources. Also your following - a lot of my hoop friends were already following you.

“…Recently I have noticed a difference in other aspects which surprised me - even last night in a CrossFit class I noticed how much easier it was to get off the floor from a burpee”

What was the moment you realised things were starting to change?(A movement breakthrough, a mindset shift, a feeling in your body…)
Regular progress pictures to start with I would take a lot of before and after and could see a difference within the first few weeks.

Recently I have noticed a difference in other aspects which surprised me - even last night in a CrossFit class I noticed how much easier it was to get off the floor from a burpee!

What specific tools, techniques, or support that we explored working together do you feel helped you the most? (Feel free to mention anything from class cues to emotional encouragement.)
I think the accountability that comes with weekly/ biweekly 1-1s help.

Having a variety of exercises to do to keep things interesting also is great. Deffo the breathing into back ribs is always a cue that sticks with me!

It also helps that Kathryn is so approachable at friendly. I really enjoy working with her!

“… I have made so much progress in my splits and bridges”

How has your flexibility or movement practice changed since we began? And how do you feel in your body and mind now, compared to when you started? (Feel free to share physical progress, mindset shifts, or anything else that feels meaningful.)
I have made so much progress in my splits and bridges. My shoulder pain is non existent since I have been practicing bridge and shoulder stand drills so that’s also great.

More confidence in movements and going into splitty movements in my pole flows and also general maneuverability in the gym!

“…I didn’t think I would see progress soo quickly. Really has changed how my body feels in so many ways!

How did working together help you overcome your flexibility struggle or original challenges?
Weekly / bi weekly sessions really help me keep on top of sessions. I do practice at least 3 times a week and that’s due to having a variety of active and passive movements to practice so I do t get bored of the same stretches! I also wanted to have a flexibility coach who incorporated strength and active flexibility drills and Kathryn defo delivers!!

What has surprised you most about this journey?
I actually enjoy my mobility sessions! Pre conceived ideas that it would be boring - proven wrong. I also didn’t think I would see progress soo quickly. Really has changed how my body feels in so many ways!

What part of your progress are you most proud of? (This could be a pose, a feeling, a habit, or a new level of confidence.)
My commitment and the change in my splits In only a few months.

Is there anything else from your continued journey that you feel is important to share? Or do you have any tips, recommendations or advise for anyone wanting to begin their flexy journey?
I think it would be nice to have an app to follow and have all the moves on there so I could track and tick off my training each day I do it.

I would say that mobility is so important and that anyone thinking about working with Kathryn to commit as she is amazing!

What would you say to someone who’s struggling with flexibility and thinking about joining KMM?
Again to go for it as KMM has really helped me and is so worth it. My sessions are always personalised and Kathryn picks up on so many things that can be tweaked or worked on to achieve overall goals.

What are your goals now? Think about the next step in your previous goals, &/or any new goals you now have.
I came to Kathryn with the goal of achieving my splits and I am well on the way to that. She has also introduced other movements throughout and I would like to also improve my bridge and forearm stands. We are still currently working mostly towards a front and middle splits.
